Last Days of Greenery

At the start of the year Pantone, the world's recognised authority on colour, told us that Greenery (15-0343) was going to be 2017's "Color of the Year". As we approach thew end of the year, was this the big success predicted?

Well, not according to Elle who's review of the Spring/Summer 2017 trends in fashion only mentioned Yellow. Khaki was mentioned as one of the trends but that was a close to Greenery as we got.

Perhaps Greenery was more apparent in Autumn/Winter collections? Again, not really. Pantone's own review of the New York and London fashion weeks did point out Olive and Lime were used neither are as vibrant a green.

What about in the Blinds industry? Certainly, we have not seen any mad rush for the greens in our ranges which is not surprising as our industry does really focus around the neutral shades.

So what next for Colour in 2018? While these announcements are always fun to read, the buyers here at Dutton & Gavin will be holding off before committing to any big orders.
